Our weekly yoga sessions began this month as part of the school's approach to promoting positive mental health and the importance of physical activity in our daily lives. Siobhán, our yoga instructor, has been teaching us about mindfulness and how to listen to our bodies. The children have been learning about relaxation and breathing techniques to calm and soothe and have been trying out a number of yoga poses each week. Take a look at some of the boys and girls practising "ocean breathing", carrying out sun salutations and exploring the concept of mindful eating by holding a biscuit, noticing how it looked, taking in the smell of the biscuit, savouring its taste and listening to the crunching sound as they chewed.
